Teachers of the Year Luncheon |
Congratulations to the 90 MCPSS Teachers of the Year, who were honored at a luncheon on Friday at Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza. The luncheon began with a welcome from MCPSS Superintendent Chresal D. Threadgill. Members of the Mobile County Board of School Commissioners recognized the teachers of the year in each district.
Each teacher received a gift card, courtesy of Mobile Coca-Cola Bottling Company, which sponsored the luncheon. Cherish Lombard, anchor at WKRG News 5, was the emcee. The event was filmed by the mcpssTV Studio crew and will soon be available on the MCPSS YouTube channel. The Baker High School Jazz Band performed as the guests arrived, and the Theodore JROTC Cadets escorted the teachers on stage. The table arrangements were from the MGM Horticulture Department.

Congratulations to Davidson High students Sariah Hossain and Brayden Sadler. Hossain has been named as a candidate for the 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students. The selection is based on outstanding performances on the ACT or College Board/SAT assessments. She was also recently named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. Here is an interview with Hossain, courtesy of mcpssTV.
Sadler scored a perfect 36 on the ACT college entrance exam, via superscore. Superscoring is calculated by combining a student’s highest subject scores in multiple testing attempts. Sadler, who is the third Davidson student in three years to earn a 36 superscore, is a National Honor Society member and a member of the 2025 Capstone Leadership Academy. |
